So I stole some time to re-work my branding. I started doing it in anticipation of my product debut, but that was temporarily derailed. The good thing about the derailment is that I get to work on my new product as a semester project and I’ve already seen one improvement come out of that. But back to my branding.
I love nature and all things natural; and I’m always looking for ways to incoporate that into my work. Leaves, I find, are the prefect visual specimen and after doing my research (as usual) and moving between several different trees and flowers, I settled on incorporating the willow leaf into my logo. While the name “Weeping Willow” carries a negative conotation, willow trees and leaves have a long standing, positive history.
The Willow has been found in Mesopotamian records as a medicinal plant and has fathered out modern aspirin. It can be found in many a legend, being wise or using it’s branches to protect and hide. Arborday.org calls the willow graceful and refined. It call it well rounded as it grows about as tall as it grows wide – 35 feet on average. Willows take root easily from cuttings or even fallen branches and thrive near water, like your truly.
So all that was said to introduce Ms. Veronica’s new look. And with the new logo, comes a revamp of our blog. You will notice there is now a separate home page along with a contact and giveaways page. The giveaways page will be constantly updated as I come across interesting giveaways on the Etsy team pages and other blogs, so make sure you check back often. Better yet, just go ahead and bookmark the page. As a matter of fact, there are two giveaways listed there now that will be ending in the next couple days.
So to summarize: new logo, new pages and hopefully a lot of new fun. Thanks for hangin’.
